MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – The share of foreign direct investment in Belarus accounted for 87% of the total investment in January-March 2017, BelTA learned from the website of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.
Foreign direct investment made up $2.5 billion, or 87% of the total.
In January-March 2017 foreign investors injected $2.9 billion into Belarus' economy (except for banks).
The primary investors were economic operators of Russia (47.3% of the total investment), the United Kingdom (20.2%), and Cyprus (8.9%).
In January-March 2017 domestic organizations (except for banks) invested $859.5 million abroad: Russia (58.5% of the total investment), Ukraine (20.5%), the UK (7.6%).
Direct investments accounted for 91.5% of all Belarus' investment channeled abroad.
