MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian customs service processes 78% of the transit cargoes within ten minutes, representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
According to the source, the Belarusian customs service works hard to enable the necessary conditions for improving the entrepreneurship and investment climate in the country. In January-September 2018 the share of transit cargoes, which were processed in under ten minutes, totaled 78%. By reaching the milestone, Belarus' Customs hit the target set for late 2019 in line with the guidelines on developing the national customs service.
Nearly 90 million tonnes of freight has crossed the Belarusian border so far this year, 11% up from the same period of last year. The fact indicates Belarus' growing transit appeal and the availability of favorable conditions for crossing the customs border, the source said.
