EXIAR working to better support export operations in Belarusian-Russian projects

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Acting within the framework of the relevant government program, the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR) tackles concrete tasks meant to increase the volume of support for export operations, including as part of Belarusian-Russian projects. Viktor Doronkevich, head of the EXIAR representative office in Belarus, made the statement during the roundtable session held in BelTA's press center on 12 October to discuss the role of export and credit insurance in the Belarusian economy.

Viktor Doronkevich quoted several examples: “The export of MAZ products to Cuba with assistance of EXIAR, Eximgarant of Belarus, and the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus is a good example. It is no secret that the share of Russian components in products of Minsk Automobile Plant as well as other Belarusian companies is great. Marko, the leader of the Belarusian footwear industry, uses EXIAR's capabilities to buy Russian raw materials and export its products to third countries.”

New export opportunities relying on EXIAR's instruments are also granted to small and medium private companies as part of the program meant to develop the Russian Export Center.

“As a result, risks are removed, preferential financing and investments flow to Belarus,” explained the head of the EXIAR representative office in Belarus. “I am not talking only about trade but also Belarusian-Russian projects in the real sector, for instance, the construction of new factories in Belarus to make import-substituting, innovative, and export-oriented products.”

The high level of economic integration between Belarusian and Russian companies, the active development and use of modern support instruments in foreign trade operations open unique opportunities before commercial entities. These opportunities are hard to come by not only for partners in the Eurasian Economic Union but also in non-CIS states, pointed out Viktor Doronkevich.

“Thanks to tight interaction with Eximgarant of Belarus, Belarusian banks and partners while relying on EXIAR's existing instruments and capabilities our joint offers can be used to minimize foreign trade risks in the most effective manner possible. We also offer affordable support mechanisms to Belarusian and Russian commercial entities. The options allow increasing the output of innovative, import-substituting and export-oriented products,” stressed Viktor Doronkevich.
