EAEU prime ministers to meet in Kazan 26 May

MOSCOW, 17 May (BelTA) – A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the prime ministers of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) – Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan – is scheduled to take place in Kazan on 26 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The agenda of the meeting will include economic issues, matters related to customs cooperation, industry and the agro-industrial complex. The heads of government will hear the EEC annual report on monitoring the assessment of the regulatory control of the commission's draft decisions in 2016. The meeting will also consider the organization of joint research and development works in the agro-industrial complex of the EAEU member states and the draft agreement on voluntary coordination of specific subsidies in respect to industrial goods by the EAEU member states and the EEC.

The prime ministers will also discuss the development of the one stop shop mechanism in the system regulating foreign economic activities in the EAEU countries.

The meeting will be chaired by Kyrgyzstan, as the county is presiding in the EAEU bodies in 2017. Attending the meeting will be EEC Board Chairman Tigran Sargsyan.
