Development of next year's social, economic development forecast begins in Belarus

MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) – The first session of the interagency working group on working out Belarus' social and economic development forecast for 2019 took place under the chairmanship of Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky at premises of the Economy Ministry on 14 April, the ministry's press service told BelTA.

The economy minister said: “Our meeting today is important from the point of view of starting the entire large-scale work on preparing the forecast. We have to make decisions, which will lay the foundation for the development of future forecast documents. Not only for 2019 but for the final year of the current five-year plan. The same foundation will be used to build the foundation of the next five-year plan.”

Vladimir Zinovsky mentioned the topicality and importance of the joint work of government agencies within the framework of the interagency working group. The collaboration contributes to quality development of forecast documents. The official noted that the Economy Ministry in association with other government agencies had already done a lot of work to determine scenario conditions and the main macro indicators.

Participants of the session discussed parameters of internal and external factors as presented by the Economy Ministry Research Institute as well as their influence on possible scenarios of the Belarusian economy's development in 2019. “The work on preparing the draft forecast of Belarus' social and economic development in 2019 in the format of the interagency group will be continued,” explained the press service.

Taking part in the work of the interagency working group on working out Belarus' social and economic development forecast for 2019 were First Deputy Economy Minister Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Chervyakov, Deputy Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov, Deputy Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Andrei Kartun, Deputy Tax and Duties Minister Ella Selitskaya, Manager of the Social Security Fund of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry Natalia Pavlyuchenko, Director of the Economy Ministry Research Institute Viktor Pinigin.
