Deflation registered in Belarus in May

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – In May 2018 the index of consumer prices for goods and services totaled 99.7% as against April 2018 and 102.5% as against December 2017, representatives of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The basic index of consumer prices, which disregards changes in prices for certain goods and services affected by administrative and seasonal factors, amounted to 99.96% as against April 2018 and 101.6% as against December 2017.

In May 2018 food prices went down by 0.6% in comparison with April 2018, with non-food prices down by 0.03%. Prices for services rose by 0.1% in May 2018.
