BEIJING, 15 May (BelTA-Xinhua) - Wang Jun, Administrator of the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) of China, suggested taking additional measures to strengthen cooperation in taxation between the states along the Belt and Road route, since such cooperation is gradually becoming an important part of trade and economic cooperation between these countries.
“The countries along the Belt and Road should improve the tax system, reduce the tax burden and improve the ability to manage the tax system,” he stressed when speaking at the thematic debate on trade promotion as part of the Belt and Road forum in Beijing.
“Based on the principle of mutual benefit we need to identify, to the maximum extent possible, the positive effects of the tax system and limit its negative impact,” Wang Jun said and emphasized the need to continue strengthening the neutrality and transparency of the tax system and avoiding the obstacles in cross-border trade.
Beijing is hosting the Belt and Road forum on 14-15 May. The forum is attended by 29 heads of state and government, heads of major international organizations.
