Business associations of Belarus, Serbia agree to develop cooperation

BEGRADE, 23 June (BelTA) – The Association of Entrepreneurs of New Belgrade suggests signing an agreement on cooperation with business associations of Belarus. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich and director of the association Dragan Ciric. The meeting took place at the Belarusian embassy in Belgrade, BelTA informs.

“The association comprises representatives of 7,500 Serbian companies. It is registered in the Chamber of Commerce an Industry of Serbia. Our major goal is to help business find foreign partners. We would like to establish cooperation between small and medium-sized business of Serbia and Belarus, strengthen cooperation through meetings, presentations and sign the corresponding agreements,” the Serbian representative said.

Vladimir Koltovich welcomed the initiative. “The idea of establishing contacts with Belarusian business unions makes sense. I am confident that they will be interested in it and the agreements will be signed. Cooperation will get another impetus to expansion,” the minister said. He stressed that the share of small and medium-sized business in the Belarusian gross domestic product increases on an annual basis. Documents will be soon adopted to simplify doing business procedures in the country.

The minister invited Serbian businessmen to Minsk and expressed confidence that business contacts between Belarus and Serbia should continue expanding. “The potential, which the entrepreneurs of the two countries have, should be utilized to the full,” he stressed. The matter may pertain to the expansion of trade cooperation and also the implementation of Belarus-Serbia cooperation projects.
