Borisov Plant of Medical Preparations signs $4m supply contract with Azerbaijan

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) - Borisov Plant of Medical Preparations signed a $4 million contract to supply medicines to Azerbaijan, Deputy Director General of the Management Company of Belpharmprom Holding Company Viktor Shein told the media, BelTA has learned.

The contract was signed following the 23rd international healthcare exhibition held in Baku from 28 to 30 September. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Healthcare Minister Valery Malashko.

“During the exhibition we signed contracts for the supply of medicines to Azerbaijan. The largest contract was sealed by Borisov Plant of Medical Preparations,” Viktor Shein noted.

Next week, 17-20 October, a Belarusian delegation, which will include representatives of some pharmaceutical companies, will visit Moldova. “Representatives of the Moldova regulator have recently visited Belarus. Quality, high efficiency and manufacturing process were the decisive factors for them to opt for the cooperation with Belarusian pharmaceutical industry, he noted.

According to Viktor Shein, the Belarusian medicines are in high demand outside the country thanks to the quality and manufacture certification system. Belarus will soon host the Latvian Healthcare Minister who will discuss, among other issues, drug supplies. Lithuania is also interested in Belarusian medicines as they are cheaper than foreign analogues.
