BMZ's export via foreign distribution network up 18% in January-March

GOMEL, 17 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) exported 350,000 tonnes of metal products via its distribution network in January-March 2017. The export surged by 18% as against the same period of 2016 when it made up 296,000 tonnes, BelTA learned from BMZ's spokesman Alexander Olesik.

According to him, such growth is due to better conditions in the international market. Today the increasing demand for metal products is a growing trend. This is why the entities of BMZ's foreign distribution network have promptly reacted to these changes and managed to boost sales.

The European market accounts for 62.3% of the total export of the distribution network. The Russian market has been recovering since early 2017, and the sales of reinforcing steel have grown considerably there. This market accounts for 33.1% in BMZ's sales pattern.

In January-March 2017 Russia, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Lithuania were among the top five importers of BMZ's products.

BMZ's distribution network comprises five joint ventures in Austria, Germany, China, and the UAE, three trading houses (two in Russia and one in Lithuania) and also five distributors. Belarusian Steel Works sales over 60% of products via its distribution network.

Established in 1984, Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) is the managing company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company. The company produces cast sections, long and rolled products, reinforcing bars, pipes, metal cord, high pressure wire, and other sorts of wire. BMZ sells over 80% of products abroad.
