Belorusneft signs contract on 3D seismic survey in Ukraine

GOMEL, 14 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft has signed a contract on performing 3D seismic surveying services in Ukraine, the company's press service told BelTA.

Belorusneft will have to study the structure of subsurface resources, process and interpret the data for the private Ukrainian company Nadra-Geoinvest.

The contract was signed when a Nadra-Geoinvest delegation visited Gomel. In line with the contract 3D seismic surveying will begin on an area of about 100km2 in the Skorobogatkovskoye oil/gas-condensate field and the Selyukhovskoye oil field in Ukraine's Poltava Oblast in autumn 2017.

The Belarusian company intends to use modern equipment for the project, including five vibration sources of seismic signals made by the Gomel-based company OAO Seismotekhnika. The seismic surveying operations are supposed to be finished in spring 2018.

Nadra-Geoinvest is quite a rapidly developing Ukrainian company. It is now Ukraine's ninth largest company in terms of hydrocarbons extraction volume. The company intends to use Belorusneft's services to increase its resource base. The Ukrainian company is also interested in Belarusian drilling services.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
