GOMEL, 4 September (BelTA) – The industrial group Belorusneft is eager to become the national company in charge of operating the network of electric car charging stations in Belarus, the company's representatives told BelTA.
At present Belorusneft operates eight charging stations as part of its refueling stations chain. Three charging stations were commissioned last month — two in Gomel Oblast and one in Grodno Oblast.
The two new fast charging stations in Gomel Oblast have the three most popular connectors (plugs). These are Type 2 for AC charging with an average speed (Mode 3), CCS and CHAdeMO for DC fast charging (Mode 4). The new charging station in Grodno Oblast is located at refueling station No.84 (291km along the M6 motorway, near the border checkpoint Bruzgi). It is designed to offer express charging — 15-30 minutes to raise the battery's charge up to 80%. Mode 4 and Mode 3 charging is available as well as DC CHAdeMO and CCS plugs and AC Type 2 plugs.
Locations of the charging stations have been chosen bearing in mind electric transport development prospects. There are plans to commission another seven charging stations for electric cars by the end of the year.
According to Belorusneft Deputy Director General Andrei Kotik, the company is ready to act as the national operator of electric car charging stations and create the relevant infrastructure. With this in mind plans have been made to set up 40 charging stations with 50km between them. These stations will be able to cover all the main motorways of the country, making travels by electric transport convenient.
The industrial group Belorusneft is Belarus' largest retailer of oil products and operates the country's largest automobile refueling stations chain — over 560 refueling stations. They account for over 70% of the automobile fuel sold in the country.
