MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft is considering options for the acquisition of new oil fields in Russia, Belorusneft Deputy Director General Sergei Kamornikov told reporters at the international conference Belarus' Market of Oil Products and Gas: Production, Trading, Retail, BelTA has learned.

“The north of Russia has always been in the focus of our interest. Belarusians worked there thirty, forty years ago. We bought the company Yangpur, and we returned there to produce oil. Today we offer mostly oil processing services. Our oil production assets are relatively small. We are considering options for the acquisition of new oil fields,” Sergei Kamornikov said.

He pointed out that in Russia there is a company, Belorusneft Siberia, that employs 2,000 people. The company provides services, including well drilling services, to Rosneft, Gazpromneft and others.
