Belarusian Vityas rolls out automated warehouse system

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian multi-industry company OAO Vityas has made a prototype of an automated warehouse system powered by lifts. The company intends to enter the warehouse equipment market within the next five years, BelTA learned from the company's Deputy Director General Gennady Azarov.

Manufacturing warehouse systems is a new and promising direction in the company's efforts to diversify its business. Vityas intends to pursue it in manufacturing cooperation with Austrian partners. The automated warehouse system is a computer-controlled mechanical lift. The lift is located in between high storage racks and can move boxes or pallets to or from a designated location on a specific rack. A delivery request can be processed within one minute, noted Gennady Azarov.

The mechanical part of the system has been made already. The software part is in development. The Vityas automated warehouse system will offer a universal solution for storing and retrieving products. Radio electronics enterprises, defense industry enterprises, pharmaceutical companies, and other branches of the national economy are expected to appreciate the new product. The core functionality and optional functions can greatly improve the efficiency of warehousing, stressed the executive. Once the automated warehouse system is approved for batch manufacturing, the Belarusian company intends to sell it primarily in the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Vitebsk-based television factory Vityas was established in 1976. In 2010 the enterprise went public, with the state owning 100% of the charter capital. The public joint-stock company (OAO) Vityas makes TV sets, household appliances, medical equipment, and other high-tech products. In 2016 the share of innovative products in the total volume of shipped goods exceeded 68%. In 2016 the output growth rate reached 116% in comparison with 2015. The net profit margin stood at 9.7%.
