Belarusian, Ukrainian oil transportation companies to sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian company OAO Gomeltransneft Druzhba and the Ukrainian company PAO Ukrtransnafta intend to sign an agreement on cooperation and interaction with a view to effectively using the system of long-distance oil pipelines Druzhba, in particular, the Mozyr-Brody section, representatives of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim told BelTA.

The agreement will stipulate technical and legal aspects of relations between the two companies, which represent parts of the same oil transportation system — the Druzhba oil pipeline.

According to Gomeltransneft Druzhba Director General Oleg Pochinok, the Mozyr-Brody section now operates as usual, pumping Russian oil to Europe. “In essence, the new agreement is a technical renewal of the effective agreement, which has been in effect since 2004,” he said.

A similar agreement on cooperation will be prepared and signed with the Russian oil transportation company Transneft. Such agreements are designed to take cooperation of the companies to the next level, noted Oleg Pochinok.
