MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Members of the Belarusian Association of International Road Carriers BAMAP increased their export of services by more than 30% in January-April, BelTA learned from BAMAP Chairman Nikolai Borovoi during the opening ceremony of a specialized BAMAP expo on 24 May.

According to the source, the export of services by BAMAP increased by more than 30% in January-April 2018. In 2017 the Belarusian automobile transport industry exported over $1 billion worth of services, securing a 14.7% share in Belarus' total export of services last year.

Nikolai Borovoi also said that last year BAMAP expanded its vehicle fleet by 8% or 1300 vehicles. “We also accomplished a number of other tasks, including an increase in the volume of transportation, an improvement of the quality of services rendered to our importers and exporters. A number of other technical and economic matters were addressed and additional jobs were created,” he stressed.

The 23rd specialized BAMAP expo is taking place at the National Library of Belarus on 24-25 May. Apart from that, a conference has been organized to discuss challenges, quality, and effectiveness of international freight transportation. Participants of the conference are expected to discuss legislation novelties, analyze practical aspects of simplification of business operation terms, and changes in interaction between the state and the private sector. Participants of the conference focus on the introduction of digital technologies in the transport industry, simpler border crossing experience, and cooperation with players on the international logistics market.
