Belarusian SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, Hungarian retail chain Maxi Foods ink cooperation agreement

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian artificial yarn manufacturer SvetlogorskKhimvolokno and the Hungarian retail chain Maxi Foods have signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed during the presentation of the Belarusian economy at the international agriculture and food expo AGRA in the city of Gornja Radgona, Slovenia, BelTA learned from representatives of the Belarusian expo organization company BelInterExpo.

Negotiations were held with representatives of the system of chambers of commerce and industry of Hungary, representatives of the business circles of Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia.

The AGRA expo is scheduled to take place on 20-25 August. Leading Belarusian manufacturers also showcase their products during the expo.

AGRA is one of the largest and most respected expos in the Balkan region and Central Europe with regard to food and agriculture. Over 1,800 companies from 30 countries are taking part in the expo. The list of products on display included agricultural machines and equipment, fertilizers and chemical products, food and beverages. The number of visitors is expected to exceed 120,000 people from dozens of countries.

A number of Belarusian companies presented their products during the expo. The number included companies run by the Belneftekhim concern: Belshina, Mogilevkhimvolokno, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, and Gomel Chemical Plant. Belneftekhim enterprises already sell artificial fibers to Slovenia and intend to expand the choice of exports as a result of the expo.

The collective stand of the Belarusian Industry Ministry included presentations of the Gomel-based mechanical engineering company Gomselmash and Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark).

BelTA has been told that visitors were particularly interested in stands arranged by Santa Bremor and Savushkin Product as well as the joint stand of Belalco and Minsk Kristall (the managing company of the holding company Minsk Kristall Group). A sampling of food and alcohol products was arranged. Companies from Austria, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Ukraine demonstrated their interest in cooperation with the top Belarusian food brands.

The national exposition of Belarus during the AGRA expo has been organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Industry Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the food industry concern Belgospishcheprom, and the oblast administrations.
