Belarusian-Russian tire recycling project suggested

MOSCOW, 24 May (BelTA) – Chairman of the Board of the association Machine-Building Cluster of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergei Mayorov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko on the sidelines of the 22nd Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on 24 May, the embassy's press service told BelTA. Sergei Mayorov expressed interest in setting up a joint venture in Belarus to process old automobile tires.

Igor Petrishenko stated that Belarus attaches much attention to the development of cooperation with Russia's Republic of Tatarstan in mechanical engineering and machine tool industry. It was noted that a project to set up a Belarus-Tatarstan industrial cluster is being implemented on the basis of the trade and manufacturing company MTZ-Tatarstan. Creating a united sale and aftersales service center of Belarus and Tatarstan is one of the steps of the project. In 2017 MTZ-Tatarstan presented a powerful tractor Belarus-3522, which is fitted with a Tatarstan-made engine.

The Russian company RariTEK-Auto Group and the Belarusian automaker MAZ have implemented a project based on a license agreement to create the Lotos passenger bus in the city of Naberezhnyye Chelny. The buses use gas-engine fuel and will be sold to local mass transit operators soon.

The ambassador also stressed that Belarusian machine tool producers are ready to implement joint projects involving their participation in programs on retooling Tatarstan mechanical engineering companies.
