Belarusian-Russian harvester maker Bryanskselmash reveals ambitious plans

GOMEL, 19 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Russian joint venture ZAO Bryanskselmash intends to occupy up to 50% of the Russian market of harvesters within the next few years. The ambitious plans were revealed by the company's Director General Valery Suleyev at a press conference for Russian and Belarusian mass media in Bryansk, BelTA has learned.

As a result of hard work in 2016 Bryanskselmash already occupies over half of the harvester market in Russia's Orenburg Oblast, Ulyanovsk Oblast, Tambov Oblast, Samara Oblast, and Penza Oblast. “On the whole, the share of grain and forage harvesters marketed under the Desna-Polesye brand on the Russian market now varies from 25% to 30% depending on the harvester's modification. Every year we raise the figure by several percentage points,” said Valery Suleyev.

In 2016 Bryanskselmash sold nearly 1,600 harvesters or roughly 200 more than in 2015. The sales are fueled by the extensive distribution chain that includes over 60 dealerships all over Russia. Apart from offering vehicle maintenance the dealerships examine the harvesters after every harvesting campaign, with specialists proposing modernization of harvester components. “We have also started shipping harvesters to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Moldova. These machines are popular because they are reliable and easy to maintain since they are mostly made of components and parts, which are made domestically,” said the Bryanskselmash Director General.

The success of the joint project of Belarusian and Russian harvester-making companies is also underscored by the fact that today Bryanskselmash is one of the largest taxpayers in Bryansk Oblast. In 2016 the company paid RUB2.3 billion to the state budgets of all levels. Bryanskselmash created 125 jobs in 2016.

The joint venture Bryanskselmash was established by the Belarusian agricultural machinery engineering company Gomselmash on 1 August 2015. ZAO Bryanskselmash specializes in making and selling agricultural machines and spare parts, aftersales service of its products. The company offers seven models of harvesters, which have been tested by government agencies, are authorized for production, and have all the necessary certificates in compliance with the Russian Federation regulations.
