Belarusian Oil Company's export of oil products up 12% in H1 2016

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) - Belarusian Oil Company raised the export of oil products by 12% to 8.6 million tonnes in H1 2016 over the same period of the previous year, Deputy Director General of ZAO Belarusian Oil Company Sergei Grib told the international press conference Market of Oil Products and Gas of the Republic of Belarus: Production, Trading, Retail Trade, BelTA has learned.

“The export of oil products increased by almost 1 million tonnes, the flows of export were reorganized. The transit of oil products via Ukrainian ports fell: about 1.1 million tonnes of oil products were transported via Ukrainian ports in H1 2015, and only 200,000 tonnes were transported via these ports in H1 2016,” Sergei Grib explained. The transit of oil products via Lithuanian ports went up 2.2 times.

The export of oil products to Eastern Europe (Poland, Czechia, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary) went up 2.4 times in H1 2016. Belarus accounted for 10% of all oil products imported to Poland. This figure made up 5% in H1 2015. “The increase in export to this region is one of our priorities. The export is not big in terms of volume, but this is a promising market,” Sergei Grib stressed.

As far as the Baltic countries are concerned, Belarusian Oil Company is improving its positions on the market of jet fuel. “We are the main supplier of jet fuel for the airports of Vilnius and Riga. I think that we will promote this business, Poland is also interested in such deliveries,” Sergei Grib added.
