Belarusian MTZ to build tractor parts plant in Russia's Omsk Oblast

MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ signed an agreement to launch the production of tractor components and repair parts to provide maintenance services for MTZ tractors in Russia's Omsk Oblast during the Days of Minsk in Omsk, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Russia.

The Minskkhlebprom bakery signed an agreement to supply confectionery to the region. The tourist information center Minsk and the business tourism agency Momentum (Omsk) will promote cooperation in the organization of congresses, expos, and business tourism.

According to the Economic Policy Department at the Omsk City Administration, a business matchmaking session was held during the Belarusian-Russian business forum. Attending the event were some 50 Omsk companies, organizations, and establishments. The Minsk delegation at the forum comprised representatives of leading companies in mechanical engineering, food production, electro-optics, and tourism. The city councils, chambers of commerce and industry, and companies of Minsk and Omsk signed cooperation agreements, too.

The Days of Minsk are running in Omsk from 24 to 26 July. The Minsk delegation is set to visit industrial enterprises on the last day of the event.

Minsk and Omsk signed an agreement on cooperation and partnership in March 2013. Minsk hosted the Days of Omsk in May 2015.
