Belarusian MTZ expands target market for timber harvesters

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ is expanding the market area for timber harvesters. As a result of the international expo Russian Forest the company reached an agreement on delivering a number of harvesters to the city of Ufa and the Republic of Karelia, Russia for the sake of getting them tested in severe climatic conditions, BelTA learned from MTZ representatives.

During the expo the Belarusian company presented the forwarder Belarus ML-131, which is designed to collect, load, and transport timber assortment, the multifunctional machine Belarus-1221, and the tower yarder Belarus MTK-431.

The multifunctional machine is based on a wheel tractor and is designed to perform reforestation work. Depending on the customer's requirements it can be fitted with a pusher, harvesting equipment, logging tools, or a mulcher.

The tower yarder has no competitors among the domestic companies that make forest harvesting equipment. The experience and cutting-edge ideas of foreign manufacturers were taken into account in the course of its creation. The skyline system can transport tree trunks and timber assortment for up to 200m across swamps, river beds, and hills. The lifting capacity is 1,200kg.

The 24th international expo Russian Forest took place in the city of Vologda on 4-6 December. It showcased products, services, and technologies for forestry industry, pulp and paper industry, and woodworking industry. This year's event gathered about 200 participants. Over 50 vehicles and woodworking machines were put on display.
