Belarusian government expects economic growth in H2 2016

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - The Belarusian government expects the economic growth in the second half of the year, Belarus' First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky said at the joint meeting of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

“In a dynamically changing environment the government's economic policy will be flexible, adaptive to external changes. The measures already taken will, according to our estimates, yield the results in the second half of the year," Vasily Matyushevsky said.

He expressed confidence that the government and MPs will continue a constructive dialogue to identify ways of solving the issues of the social and economic development.

Vasily Matyushevsky stressed that there are no simple solutions which will give instant growth. “The painstaking work is in progress to address the problems. The efforts are focused on increasing the efficiency of utilization of available resources, reducing costs, improving the functioning of enterprises and industries,” the First Vice Premier said.
