MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – In H1 2016 resident companies in Belarusian free economic zones (FEZ) secured a surplus of foreign trade in merchandise as large as $452.6 million, 14.6% up from January-June 2015, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.
In H1 2016 their merchandise export reached $1,718.3 million, 2.1% up from the same period of last year. The top exports were tires, mixed mineral fertilizers, particleboards, plastic packaging, furniture and parts thereof.
Merchandise import amounted to $1,265.7 million, 5.7% down from the same period of last year.
Product profitability stood at 11.2%, up from 10% in H1 2015.
As of 1 July 2016 there were 413 operating resident companies in the free economic zones in Belarus.
