MOSCOW, 10 October (BelTA) – A fair of Belarusian goods opened in Revolutsii Square in the center of Moscow, thus heralding the start of the Days of Minsk in Moscow on 10 October, BelTA has learned.

The first guests of the fair were Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets and Sergei Cheremin, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Foreign Economic and International Relations Department. In the course of the tour around the fair, the Minsk mayor briefed the Moscow minister on the products that the Minsk companies brought to the Russian capital.

“Muscovites love Belarusian foodstuffs because they are organic, without artificial additives, and very tasty. Today Moscow residents can enjoy not only shopping but also Belarusian music,” Sergei Cheremin told reporters.

He also expressed gratitude to Belarus for the support of Moscow with additional food supplies during the food embargo.

Belarusian products are on display at sixty-seven wooden chalets allocated by the government of Moscow. The fair showcases a variety of food products, including meat and dairy products, honey, sausages, confectionery, jams, tea and many more. Visitors can also see the Belarusian knitwear and get familiar with the products of well-known brands such as Kommunarka, Belita, Vitex, and Minsk watch factory Luch.

The Belarusian union of craftsman have brought to Moscow ceramic, leather, straw, and linen products, carpets, souvenirs and many more goods. Performing at the fair are the Belarusian state dance company Khoroshki, the folk song and music band Svitanak and the folk vocal ensemble Bely Ptakh.
