MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese joint venture ZAO Aviation Technologies and Complexes, which resides in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, intends to make 200 unmanned aerial vehicles by the end of the year, BelTA learned from the company's flight test division chief Sergei Kostevich during the TIBO 2018 expo on 15 May.
Sergei Kostevich said: “This year we intend to make 50 drones of the aircraft variety and 150 drones of the multirotor variety aka quadcopters. The first two production prototypes are showcased at the expo.”
In his words, the drones the company will make are supposed to be used as part of the harvesting campaign this autumn. “They will be used to check the spending of assets, progress of the harvesting campaign, and harvest transportation in Belarusian agricultural enterprises,” explained the source. Apart from that, the drones can be used during a sowing campaign for saving fertilizers among other things.
The private joint-stock company (ZAO) Aviation Technologies and Complexes was established by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the major Chinese aviation company AVIC.
