MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have harvested 2 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 28 July, the grain harvest exceeded 2 million tonnes. Gomel Oblast is the leader as the region has harvested 515,100 tonnes of grain so far. Minsk Oblast has harvested 497,000 tonnes, Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast – 472,700 tonnes and 277,000 tonnes of grain respectively. Mogilev Oblasts has harvested 181,500. Vitebsk Oblast agrarians have cropped 67,700 tonnes.
So far, 26.4% (584,100 hectares) of the areas under crops have been harvested in Belarus.
The average yield makes up 34.4 centners per hectare, up 2.3 centners per hectare from the previous year.
Belarusian agrarians have cropped 115,300 tonnes of grain as part of public procurement contracts, or 10% of the plan.
