Belarus to hold 265 start-up activities in 2018

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - In 2018 Belarus will hold 265 start-up activities as envisaged in the plan of start-up activities approved by Belarus' Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, BelTA informs with reference to the website of the Economy Ministry.

Support for the start-up movement is one of the most important tools to promote the development of innovative entrepreneurship in Belarus. “The practice of preparing annual plans of start-up activities was launched in 2012 and since then has proved its worth in the process of interaction between the Economy Ministry, the regional authorities and the organizations involved in the preparation and conduct of start-up activities. This enables these organizations to enjoy organizational, informational and financial support of local authorities,” the statement on the website reads.

Currently, the Economy Ministry cooperates with more than 20 key organizations involved in the organization and conduct of start-up activities. To enable the interoperability of these organizations with the government bodies, the regional authorities and the Minsk City Hall have approved a list of officials in charge of the implementation of the activities aimed at promoting the events implying the development and state support of the start-up movement in Belarus.
