Belarus to continue upgrading customs administration in 2017

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarus will continue upgrading its customs administration in 2017, BelTA learned from the website of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

“With the export-oriented economy and transit openness in mind, the Belarusian customs service will continue the organizational and technological upgrading of its customs administration system in 2017,” the post on the website runs.

The State Customs Committee also stresses that the efforts of the Belarusian customs bodies to create a favorable business climate were highly praised by international experts. Belarus ranked 30th in Trading Across Borders index of the World Bank's Doing Business report in 2016, surpassing its EEU member states (Armenia – 48, Kyrgyzstan – 79, Kazakhstan – 119, Russia - 140).

“The activity on introducing the world's best practices of standardization and simplification of the customs control and also greater efficiency of customs administration and the reduced transfer of documents contribute to the favorable business climate in the country and better doing business conditions,” the State Customs Committee said.
