MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov signed executive order No.210 to set up a working group on the adjustment of state programs and legal acts concerning the provision of gas supply to settlements, BelTA learned from the Belarusian government.
“The group is headed by Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko. It has been tasked with reviewing the state programs and legal acts concerning the provision of gas supply to settlements taking into consideration the scheduled commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) and reaching a 100% coverage of housing and utility expenses by the population in 2018,” the government said.
The group has been instructed to submit proposals on how to promote the use of electricity to power heating and hot water systems to the Council of Ministers within two months. It is also expected to develop proposals to adjust the state programs aimed at minimizing the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 2011-2015 and during the period until 2020 and implementing housing construction projects in 2016-2020. The same applies to the integrated development plan for Belarus' electric power industry for the period until 2025 and other legal acts if necessary.
“The group is entitled, if necessary, to involve in its work employees of state administration bodies and other public sector organizations subordinate to the Belarusian government and also specialists of research institutions, educational establishments, business associations and other organizations, international experts with their consent,” the government added.
