Belarus takes active part in Venezuela's social housing construction projects

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Belarusian specialists are taking an active part in the implementation of social housing construction projects in Venezuela, Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov said at a meeting held in the House of Friendship on 2 February to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Venezuela, BelTA has learned.

Valentin Rybakov stressed that Belarus provided its services in the construction of housing in the Venezuelan states of Aragua, Barinas and the city of Caracas.

In a relatively short time Belarus and Venezuela have managed to develop a strong legal framework of cooperation, established robust contacts between ministries, organizations, companies, educational and scientific centers. The two countries have been implementing more than 40 international agreements. The Belarusian-Venezuelan joint commission plays an important role in the advancement of bilateral relations.

The deputy minister added that the two countries have been implementing large-scale projects of bilateral cooperation in industry, architecture and construction, agriculture and food, installation of gas service, seismic exploration and technique, science. Belarus took part in the construction of three plants in the State of Barinas. These are the plants to assemble tractors, trucks and road construction equipment. The joint companies have so far assembled more than 2,800 tractors, 1,500 trucks and over 150 road construction vehicles. The two countries develop cooperation in oil prospecting and extraction. The joint enterprise Petrolera BeloVenezolana produces more than 1 million tonnes of oil annually.

According to Valentin Rybakov, joint projects promote the economies of the two countries. He expressed confidence that the Belarusian-Venezuelan contacts will continue developing.
