Belarus suggests joint ventures to make agricultural machines to China's Gansu Province

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Belarus suggests establishing joint ventures to make agricultural machines to China's Gansu Province. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin made the statement as he met with Gansu Province Governor Tang Renjian on 4 September, BelTA has learned.

Anatoly Kalinin said: “Belarus and Gansu have opportunities for further advancement of bilateral cooperation. Today you are going to be made familiar with the project of strategic importance for the two countries — the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. Many provinces are already represented in the park. We expect Gansu companies to join them. Belarus is also interested in setting up joint ventures for manufacturing agricultural machines in Gansu.”

Gansu Province has already established tight ties with Grodno Oblast. A Chinese corporation is busy reconstructing a hotel in the oblast capital. A Chinese folk medicine center was opened in Grodno last weekend. A new Chinese cuisine restaurant has been opened in Minsk. Gansu Province is importing more and more Belarusian milk, juices, and other foods.

Anatoly Kalinin assured that the Belarusian government will continue providing support to mutually beneficial projects with China in various industries.

In turn, Tang Renjian noted that Gansu Province is ready to expand interregional ties with Belarusian regions and advance cooperation as part of the Belt and Road initiative. Belarus' favorable geographical position will help organize convenient transit corridors for Chinese products.
