MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Belarus has sown more than 40% of the areas with spring grain crops, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
As of 20 April, 443,200 hectares have been sown with spring cereals and leguminous crops (with the exception of corn, buckwheat and millet), which is 43.5% of the plan. The field work is in progress in all the regions. Brest Oblast has planted 83.9% of the areas, Grodno Oblast 53.8%, Gomel Oblast 47.7%, Minsk Oblast 46.8%, Mogilev Oblast 21.8%, and Vitebsk Oblast 14.7%.
Plans are in place to sow 1.019 million hectares with spring grain and leguminous crops this year.
