Belarus, Russia's Rostov Oblast sign roadmap to advance cooperation in 2017-2019

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia's Rostov Oblast have signed a roadmap on advancing cooperation in 2017-2019, BelTA learned from Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev after the ninth session of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Rostov Oblast on 10 May.

Vasily Golubev reminded that the history of modern cooperation between Belarus and Rostov Oblast began with the signing of the relevant agreement in 2002.

He explained: “The last 12 months demonstrated that trade between Belarus and Rostov Oblast has good growth dynamics — $339 million or 19.1% more was secured. Today we've talked about our new opportunities.”

The Rostov Oblast delegation included representatives of business circles, the private sector, and heads of municipal units, who have experience of working with Belarus and are ready to take this cooperation to the next level. “We have agreed that apart from the agreement a working document will be signed soon to stipulate concrete goals, avenues of cooperation between ministries, government agencies, and between specific manufacturers,” noted the governor.

The next session of the working group will take place in H2 2018.
