Belarus-Russia economic cooperation to be discussed at Union State Council of Ministers session

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Additional measures to stimulate trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia will be discussed at a meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in Mogilev on 12 May, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told media after his meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 26 April, BelTA has learned.

“We will mainly focus on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation. There are plans to approve four new programs, three new program concepts. There are also other themes for discussion. These are additional measures to stimulate further development of trade and economic cooperation,” said Grigory Rapota. The session will also take stock of the progress made by the Union State and its institutions since the previous session of the Union State Council of Ministers.

According to Grigory Rapota, the current agenda includes 28 issues. “Changes are possible, but these are working moments,” the State Secretary said.
