Belarus, Poland encouraged to search for new forms of cooperation

MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland should search for new mutually beneficial forms of cooperation, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, said as he attended the Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness 2016 on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

“It is time for Belarus and Poland to look for new mutually beneficial forms of cooperation,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. He noted that the forum could focus on ways to boost investment and industrial cooperation.

Mikhail Myasnikovich pointed out that he sees great prospects for interregional cooperation. “As Chairman of the Council of the Republic, I invite you to step up our interregional ties in humanitarian affairs, culture and economy,” the Speaker said.

He added that Belarus will create favorable conditions for fruitful all-round cooperation and mutually beneficial interaction between Polish companies and their Belarusian partners.

Mikhail Myasnikovich voiced general satisfaction with the development of the Belarusian-Polish relations. “I am glad to observe positive trends in the Belarusian-Polish relations today. The cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries has good prospects. We have much work ahead to make the parliamentary ties strong,” the Chairman of the Council of the Republic said.

Minsk is hosting the Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness 2016 on 24 October. The forum aims to strengthen bilateral commercial and economic cooperation and bolster the ties between Belarus and Poland in different economy sectors. The program of the forum includes a plenary meeting and three breakout sections: “Interregional Cooperation and Development”, “Creation of Favorable Investment Climate. Advantages and Risks”, and “Conditions for Doing Business. Open Economy and Market Protection”. A business matchmaking session for Belarusian and Polish businessmen will be held as part of the forum. Partaking in the forum are some 500 businessmen and government officials.
