Belarus PM praises quality of MTZ tractors

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – The Belarus tractors made by OAO Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) confirm the high potential of the Belarusian production sector. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement during the solemn ceremony held on 28 May to mark the 70th anniversary since MTZ was founded, BelTA has learned.

According to Andrei Kobyakov, Belarus tractors are used in over 125 countries, attesting to the high potential of the Belarusian production sector. Customers are offered over 100 tractor models. In the last few years enterprises of the holding company started the production of dozens of new vehicles for various applications.

Andrei Kobyakov reminded that Minsk Tractor Works was built in most complicated post-war conditions. The construction of the enterprise began on 29 May 1946 in accordance with the relevant executive order of the USSR Council of Ministers. Three years later the experimental shop rolled out the first tractor. That tractor began the history of selfless labor of several generations of MTZ workers. Among them are labor dynasties, with parents, children, and grandchildren working for the same company. “Accomplishments of the company are treated like their own, filling one's life with a special sense of purpose and responsibility for working well,” believes Andrei Kobyakov.

In his words, thanks to patriotism and patience of its employees Minsk Tractor Works is now recognized as the flagship of Belarus' top companies that worthily represent the country on international markets.

Andrei Kobyakov stated that in the 70 years since the enterprise's foundation, MTZ has made 3.8 million Belarus tractors, with over 80% of them exported outside Belarus. In addition to manufacturing wheeled tractors and spare parts the company licenses out their production abroad, offers maintenance and tuning services to the exported vehicles.

“Today when external factors are complicated, you face a challenge of national importance: you have to improve the manufacturing business and ensure the production of modern goods. The entire lineup of vehicles made by Minsk Tractor Works is on par with the world's top agricultural machines in terms of technical and economic parameters,” said Andrei Kobyakov. “Belarus tractors are attractive primarily thanks to easy steering, affordable maintenance and moderate prices.”

The Belarusian head of government noted that the enterprise regularly offers new products. A 450hp Belarus tractor rolled off the assembly line in time for the 70th anniversary of Minsk Tractor Works. “I am confident this vehicle will come in handy not only in Belarus but also abroad where large fields are available,” stressed the Prime Minister.

“Your job is to make sure these accomplishments last and put efforts into increasing the output of highly competitive products. To do that, it is necessary to concentrate and channel the available resources into the modernization and retooling of the manufacturing facilities in addition to assimilating new technologies,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

The Prime Minister of Belarus congratulated the MTZ personnel on the anniversary, wished them prosperity and career accomplishments, strong health and happiness.
