Belarus' pavilion at Astana Expo 2017 opens to public

ASTANA, 12 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian pavilion at Astana Expo 2017 opened to public on 10 June, BelTA has learned.

The opening ceremony featured Belarusian folk songs and dances. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Anatoly Nichkasov and Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan's Majilis (lower house of the parliament) Vladimir Bozhko gave a welcome speech to the visitors of the pavilion.

When speaking to the media Ambassador Anatoly Nichkasov said that he expected Astana Expo 2017 to bring some positive results and contracts for Belarus.

Anatoly Nichkasov noted that Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov is expected to partake in the Day of Belarus at Astana Expo on 13 August. The Belarusian side plans to hold a forum with business community which is expected to result in important agreements. “We have also agreed that we will host a regular session of Belarus-Kazakhstan interparliamentary commission here in September. This event is aimed to summarize the results to be achieved over the next three months,” the ambassador added.

Astana Expo 2017 will stay open till 10 September. The forum is themed around future energy, which illustrates the attention that the global community pays to the fast-growing problem of energy consumption.
