MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – Evgeny Shestakov, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Rigoberto Gauto, Deputy Minister for Economic Relations and Integration at Paraguay's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 29 March to discuss the need for stepping up the dialogue between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and Mercosur, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties also discussed the state and development prospects of the trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, and exchanged opinions on the possibility of setting up Belarusian enterprises in Paraguay.
Evgeny Shestakov also met with Oscar Robledo, Deputy Minister for Trade at Paraguay's Ministry of Industry and Trade. The parties expressed interest in strengthening the trade and economic relations between Belarus and Paraguay. An agreement was reached to continue the effort to develop cooperation in industry and trade.
Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov is on a visit to Paraguay on 29 and 30 March. This is the first visit at the level of deputy foreign ministers in the history of bilateral relations.
