Belarus, Netherlands to develop cooperation in customs affairs

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – An agreement between the governments of Belarus and the Netherlands on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters was signed by Chairman of Belarus' State Customs Committee Yuri Senko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Poland and concurrently to Belarus Ronald van Dartel, BelTA learned from the website of Belarus' State Customs Committee.

The document is designed to establish a legal framework for bilateral cooperation. It defines the basic principles and forms of mutual assistance and the framework of cooperation in providing information necessary to prevent and investigate offences.

“Today's meeting will help identify the promising areas and concrete steps of interaction between the customs authorities of Belarus and the Netherlands. I am sure that this agreement will help the customs bodies unify and harmonize customs procedures and fulfill their tasks more efficiently and effectively,” Yuri Senko said.
