Belarus, Kazakhstan in negotiations on major IT projects

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan are in negotiations about major information technology projects, BelTA learned from Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev after negotiations with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on 29 November.

The rapid development of information technologies in Belarus was noted. “We are in negotiations on two to three big joint ideas and projects in this field,” noted Nursultan Nazarbayev. An IT park is being established in Kazakhstan, with all the top global companies invited to participate. This is why the Belarusian-Kazakhstani intergovernmental commission should work on it, said the Kazakhstani head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed topical items on the international agenda. “We have similar opinions in this regard. We work together,” stressed Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The development of mutual trade in view of Belarus' and Kazakhstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed as well. Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev also talked about the agenda of the Collective Security Treaty Organization summit, which will take place in Minsk on 30 November.

Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out that the considerable legal base of Belarus-Kazakhstan relations had been expanded with a package of documents earlier that day. Among them the Kazakhstan president singled out the agreement on social and economic cooperation till 2026. Its comprehensive nature outlines new strategic guidelines on Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation for the sake of expanding it for the benefit of the two nations.
