Belarus-Irkutsk Oblast working group on cooperation to meet 16 November

BREST, 13 November (BelTA) – The second meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Russia's Irkutsk Oblast will take place in Irkutsk on 16 November, BelTA learned from the economy committee of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by Brest Oblast Governor Anatoly Lis, who is responsible for cooperation between Belarus and Irkutsk Oblast. The visit will last from 14 to 17 November. The visit will include a meeting with Irkutsk Oblast Governor Sergei Levchenko, the second meeting of the working group on cooperation, a business forum and a business matchmaking session.

The business part of the visit is organized by the Brest office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to Deputy Director General of the office Sergei Telezhinsky, the Belarusian delegation will comprise more than 20 people, including heads of the country's big companies (BelAZ, Gomselmash, Mogilevliftmash), the Russian dealers of the Belarusian companies (MAZ, MTZ, Belshina, Amkodor), representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Architecture and Construction Ministry. Among the Brest Oblast producers will be heads of the STiM roup, Berezastroimaterialy, Brestselmash, Polesye, 558th Aircraft Repair Plant, Pinskdrev Holding Company, and Brestmyasomolprom Concern.

“The list of Russian contract partners is formed by the hosts. Our goal is to showcase our products,” said Sergei Telezhinsky.

The Belarusian delegation is expected to visit the Irkutsk aviation plant, take part in a wreath ceremony at the Eternal Light Memorial and a meeting with the Irkutsk Association of Belarusian Culture (named after Yan Chersky).
