Belarus interested in joint economic projects with Russia's Vladimir Oblast

MOSCOW, 24 May (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in implementing promising projects in the area of manufacturing cooperation in mechanical engineering, power engineering, in the construction of public facilities and multiple-occupancy buildings together with Russia's Vladimir Oblast. The relevant statement was made by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko as he met with Vladimir Oblast First Vice Governor Aleksei Konyshev during the 22nd Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on 24 May, BelTA has learned.

Taking into account the considerable experience and the industrial base of Belarusian companies, the ambassador suggested, among other things, stepping up manufacturing cooperation of the Belarusian holding company Automotive Components, Minsk Motor Plant, Belshina and other ones with emerging mechanical engineering companies in Vladimir Oblast. Igor Petrishenko said he was confident that using Belarusian components instead of imports can reduce possible risks for Vladimir Oblast mechanical engineering companies in view of the rising pressure of Western sanctions. The diplomat invited a delegation of industrialists and service providers from Vladimir Oblast to visit Belarusian mechanical engineering companies for the sake of sharing their best practices, establishing new business ties and developing old ones.

The ambassador also noted that Belarusian companies are interested in taking part in the implementation of agribusiness development programs in Vladimir Oblast, including by supplying more agricultural machines. Belarusian companies are also interested in taking part in the construction and modernization of animal farms and dairy farms. They are ready to supply and tune equipment using the turnkey principle. Belarus' high potential for cooperation with Russian regions in civil engineering was mentioned, including the designing and construction of residential buildings, infrastructure, utilities, and public facilities. Igor Petrishenko suggested considering the construction of a Belarusian city block in the city of Vladimir as well as residential buildings, cultural and public facilities in major populated localities in the oblast. Belarusian companies can and are ready to satisfy the region's demand for lifts for new residential buildings and reconstructed ones. Belarusian companies are ready to sell more construction products, materials, equipment, and vehicles and are also ready to participate in the construction and repair of automobile roads in the region. Belarusian companies can supply the road construction machines and utility vehicles these projects may need.

Similar matters of cooperation in the civil engineering sphere were mentioned as the Belarusian ambassador met with Kaluga Oblast Governor Anatoly Artamonov.
