Belarus' innovative development program 2016-2020 estimated at Br19.4bn

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian government will allocate Br19.4 billion to finance the state innovative development program in 2016-2020, reads Resolution No. 320 of Belarus' Council of Ministers of 29 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

The resolution lays down the plan and schedule of the implementation of the projects to set up new ventures of utmost importance for Belarus' innovative development. The document outlines the volumes of state financing of the projects and activities of the state innovative development program for 2016-2020. The resolution also sets forth performance targets for national public authorities and organizations subject to the government, Belarus' National Academy of Sciences, local executive bodies, and the Belarusian Innovation Fund.

Thus, Br19.4 billion will be assigned for Belarus' state innovative development program. Some Br186.8 million will come from the national budget, Br200.6 million from local innovation funds, and Br872.8 million from the companies' proprietary funds. Foreign investment will make up Br14.4 billion and loans - Br3.6 billion. All in all, the state program features around 90 projects and activities, including the projects to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant, a new yeast plant, an experimental facility “Resource-independent residential area Dom Park (Home Park)”, and to launch a pilot production of composite materials of Belarus' thermoplastics for extrusive 3D printing.
