MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – Belarus' Industry Ministry and the State of Khartoum (Sudan) signed a memorandum of understanding during a meeting of the Belarus-Sudan joint cooperation commission in Khartoum, BelTA learned from the Industry Ministry.
“A memorandum of understanding between the Industry Ministry of Belarus and the State of Khartoum was signed at the meeting of the intergovernmental Belarus-Sudan commission on cooperation,” the Industry Ministry informed.
During the meeting MTZ Director General Fyodor Domotenko delivered welcoming remarks, BelTA learned from Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark). “Belarus and Sudan have developed long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, including trade and economy. Minsk Tractor Works has made a considerable contribution to this cooperation. Sudan is an important market for MTZ on the African continent. MTZ tractors account for 6.7% of the total fleet of agricultural tractors in Sudan,” he said.
After the meeting, the participants attended the opening of the Belarusian exposition at the International Fair of Khartoum.
The Belarusian delegation is set to hold meetings with representatives of the government bodies of Sudan and the executive branch of the State of Khartoum.
