Belarus' industrial output up 6.3% in January-October 2017

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) –Belarus' industrial output totaled Br74.7 billion in current prices in January-October 2017, or 106.3% in comparable prices as against the same period of last year, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The industrial output of Belarus' mining industry rose by 3.1%. The processing industry reported a 6.9% increase. The supply of electricity, natural gas, steam, hot water, and conditioned air went up by 4.4%. The industrial output growth rate in water supply, collection, processing and treatment of waste, clean-up activities totaled 99.8%.

In October 2017 Belarus' industrial output totaled 108.1% as against October 2016 and 106.4% as against September 2017.

The volume of industrial output in 11 out of 13 branches of the processing industry exceeded the figure registered in January-October 2016. The highest growth was registered in the production of machines and equipment not elsewhere classified (up 24.6%), manufacturing of wooden products and paper, printing, and copying of recorded media (up 14%), manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparation (up 11.8%), production of chemical production (up 11.6%).
