MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – A total of 1,742.600 hectares, or 80.2%, of areas under crops have been harvested in Belarus so far, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 18 August, Belarus' grain harvest exceeded 6.274 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested more than 1,205.8 million tonnes, Minsk Oblast – 1,546.000 tonnes. Gomel Oblast and Grodno Oblast cropped 896,800 and 1,143,100 tonnes each. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 901,100 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 581,100 tonnes.
As of today, Brest Oblast remains the leader: the region has cropped 98.2% of the total area.
This year, the average yield makes up 36 centners per hectare.
