Belarus' GDP expected to stay at last year's level

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Economy Ministry expects that the country's GDP in 2015 will stay at last year's level, BelTA learned from Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky on 2 October.

In particular, the official mentioned positive shifts in the national economy as of late. Vladimir Zinovsky said that the industrial output has been rising every month albeit slowly while the finished goods inventory has been dwindling. The changes generate a positive revenue flow that allows making more products to sell. “We expect that the GDP will be at least as high as last year's,” said the Belarusian Economy Minister. He went on saying that taking into account the effect that the macroeconomic situation in Russia may have on the Belarusian economy the GDP may be close to 97-98%.

The Economy Minister also said that a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of Belarus will be held in mid-October to discuss the social and economic development forecast and the state budget for the next year. During the session an evaluation of the projects the Belarus government has come up with will be given, said Vladimir Zinovsky.
