Belarus, France to cooperate in environmental protection

MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – Belarus and France will cooperate in environmental protection and sustainable development. The environmental ministries of the two countries signed a relevant agreement in Paris on 26 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in France.

The agreement was signed at a meeting of the joint Belarusian-French commission for economic cooperation. “The parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, such as the cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, transport and tourism, interregional relations, and the development of the legal framework of bilateral relations,” the press service said.

The parties also signed a protocol that outlines the areas of cooperation in 2016.

The Belarusian delegation to the meeting was headed by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna. The French delegation was led by Sandrine Gaudin, the head of the bilateral relations service at the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance.
