Belarus' foreign trade surplus above $205m in 2015

MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) – In 2015 Belarus' foreign trade surplus totaled $205.7 million while the country had a foreign trade deficit of $484.8 million in 2014, BelTA learned from the statistics data released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2015 Belarus' foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $65,559.7 million, 24.7% down from 2014. Belarus' export amounted to $32,882.7 million (24.1% down), with import at $32,677 million (25.4% down).

The deficit of Belarus' foreign merchandise trade amounted to $2,118.2 million. In 2014 the deficit was as large as $2,635.4 million. Belarus' foreign merchandise trade shrank by 25.8% to $54,536.4 million. Merchandise export went down by 26% to $26,209.1 million, with import down by 25.6% to $28.327.3 million.

In 2015 the surplus of Belarus' foreign trade in services reached $2,323.9 million, 8% up from 2014. In 2015 Belarus' foreign trade in services reached $11,023.3 million (80.9% as against 2014). Export of services reached $6,673.6 million (84.6%), with import at $4,349.7 million (75.8%).
